    A new study shows that college students who are stressed can benefit from Transcendental Meditation that also lowered blood pressure among study participants. High blood pressure begins during younger years. College students at risk for high blood pressure were studied and compared to a control group. After three months, compared to a control group of college students placed on a wait list, students who practiced Transcendental Meditation lowered both their systolic and diastolic blood pressure readings by 6.3 points and 4.0 points respectively.     New research shows that eating a low fat high carbohydrate diet or a high fat low carbohydrate diet can both lead to weight loss. Between the two, dieters are happier when they consume less fat and more carbohydrates. The study, published November 9 in the Archives of Internal Medicine, examined the effect of either a very–low-carbohydrate, high-fat diet to a high-carbohydrate, low-fat diet in 106 study participants. The study showed that after a year, the low fat diet was associated with positive mood changes. The psychological effect of a low fat diet may be associated with chemicals in the brain that control emotions.
