Green tea has always been one of the staples in diets of the residents of Thailand, India, China and Japan. This tea is known to act as a stress reliever; in this article we have tried to find how.

The antioxidant effect of green tea: Green tea contains a powerful antioxidant called catechins; this agent helps in reducing the overall oxidative stress on our system. Catechins are particularly effective in reducing the stress on our kidneys, more so if we have renal diseases. If you rink green tea regularly, the toxin production your body will be inhibited and there will be no further damage to your kidney cells.

Green tea protects against immune stresses: Consuming green tea regularly, protects us against the stresses that may erode the defense mechanism of our body. Erosion of the body’s defense mechanism might lead to serious health disorders like cancer. Medical studies have shown that green tea possesses the ability of inhibiting every stage of cancer. Green tea is rich in another antioxidant called the polyphenol antioxidants; these antioxidants help in reducing liver toxicity.

The caffeine blocking properties of green tea: Green tea can successfully reduce stress due to its caffeine blocking properties. Green tea contains amino acids known as Theanine. Theanine is the agent responsible for the flavor of green tea. 50% of the amino acids present in green tea are of this type. Theanine is particularly known for promoting the production of the antioxidants that fight free radicals within our system. Theanine is also known to provide a destressing and calming effect. This amino acid has the ability of crossing the barrier between bloods and brain and thus can successfully block stimulating properties of caffeine. Theanine is also known for enhancing the effects of medicine prescribed for the treatment of cancer; moreover, it will also reduce the side effects of cancer drugs.

There are so many things to worry about in one’s life – family, work, relationships, society, finance, health, emotion, past, present, future, just so much to do. Most of the times one feels so stressed out that nothing more than rest matters. Truly speaking, the same crisis inspired me to write on this topic. While hunting some help for myself, I came across these few things that I would like to share. Take a deep breath before you walk into the world of stress busters, below.

Anger brings stress

Anger and annoyance is a form of stress. Whenever a person gets angry, he kills some major number of neurons cells of his brain. This definitely induces stress on the remaining cells. Bust your stress by busting anger. Practice the LET GO policy. Whenever something occurs which causes you to get angry, just let it go man! It is not sensible to waste time, energy and cells on something unworthy. Try the anger- management decrees; they prove effective in improving stressful conditions.

Breathe out the tension

Breathing exercises can help bust the stress and release the tension in mind and body. Just inhale and exhale a few numbers of times, slowly and deeply. Apart from regular breathing exercises, one can try out deep breaths, 4 in 4 out, in a stressful situation like before an exam or interview begins. Remember, the inhaling must be slow as 3- 4 seconds for one breath and the exhaling must be even slower, say 5- 6 seconds per breath. When a person is stressed and anxious, he tends to speak fast, which causes loss of breath for his body. This is harmful for the brain cells, leading to further mishaps. Practices of deep breathing helps slowing down the speed of communication and thus, calms the situation a bit.

Be Responsible

Sometimes stress is due to someone nagging you for not fulfilling a responsibility. Just finish it and chuck it away. That one thing is not worth the big loss you are planning for yourself by stressing out. For example, returning a phone call, an appointment with the doctor, some immediate task one expect you to do at office or home, etc. – these are the little things that come in the form of big stress causes.

Take -a- break

Go out for an outing, and by that I don’t mean a long trip or holiday. Just take a little walk in the park with your grandparents, parents, loved one or friends – whomever you feel comfortable with. Somehow, take a break from your stressful work.

Self care

Some people feel comfortable in their own company – like me. Give time for yourself to yourself – that’s fair enough. Rejuvenate yourself with some activity you love to have hands on. Go shopping. Watch sports. Play a sport. Go for a movie. Laugh your heart out with comedy stuff on TV. Cook your favorite delicacy. Go for a stroll by the beach lost in your pleasant thoughts. Craft some designs if you are good at drawing. Please yourself.

Water is the best medicine

Drink lots of water. That’ll help you cool down. And it is a fact. Water really cools down the insides of your body and brain. Stress is often a result of dehydration and hunger. So, drink water and eat nutritious snacks when at work to prevent stress from mounting over and hindering your important tasks.

Washing the stress away

When ever you feel stressful or tired mentally, go and take a bath with cold or warm water; that depends on the climatic conditions and your physical health. Stress is also experienced due to physical fatigue and the heat accumulated on the body surface. Wash it away by the peaceful bathing, with variations at your choice – like Jacuzzis and hot spring baths.

Reward yourself

Demotivations and discouragements are good enough reasons for a stressful mood. Plan something rewarding for yourself, at the end of the day. How does it matter if someone else appreciates your work, abilities and qualities or not? Do it for yourself. You are the best person to judge you. If you think your day’s work was efficient enough, reward yourself with an extra- ordinary meal or some relaxing drink or a prize, whatever makes you happy. That is all that matters.

End note

These were some of the inexpensive ways to bust your stress away, and trust me the author has self- tried it. Well, that’s me. Along with these practices, eating healthy and sufficient, sleeping well and enough, and a cut down in the levels of caffeine you consume will help you kick the demon, named stress away from your schedule.

Numerous shining testaments aver that lying on prickly surfaces of Yantra Mats – analogous to the nail beds chosen in Yogism – wonderfully allays stress.

Yantra mats function on the beliefs of acupressure – a primeval healing art tracing back several ages. According to TCM, around 365 pressure points are present along the 12 meridians of our bodies. Pressing on them could assist in healing muscle tensions, promoting blood supply and might help the body to naturally heal itself.

Best Way of Using these Yantra Mats

These mats measure forty-four centimetres (width-wise) by seventy-five centimetres (height-wise) and consisting of 8820 acupressure contact-points whose calibration is done for providing analogous pressure all over.

Every yantra mat is built with over two hundred flowers and every one of these comprising of forty-two pressure-points.

Lying on the tummy or back could be done when using the mat or optionally placing the mats on chairs or couches and being seated against these – thus allowing a person in ably controlling the extent of pressure one applies. Initially, most users might sense some extent of discomforting sensations while the mats are used hence it is recommended that people don a light-weight pure-cotton tee till one adapts to the effect of these acupressure-points.

Yantra Mats are contraindicated for expectant mothers or those women who breastfed. It is best to firstly seek medical opinion in case one is using any medicines.

Elucidated are varied positions that people could lie in when on the Yantra Mat.

Lying on a levelled plane and in case possible placing a cushion underneath the neck. This pose would help in stimulating the acupressure-points all the length of the spinal column and might aid in soothing back issues.

Lying on the abdomen would help in improving metabolism, loosening the abdominal cavity and muscle groups involved in respiration.

Lying down warily and placing one of the cheeks against the mat’s surface. In case it is feeling disagreeable then using some fine sheet in-between. Such a pose might help in loosening rigidity in the jaws & neck.

The Yantra mat could additionally be placed on normal chairs or lying down with mat placement underneath the butts which helps in loosening tensions in the butts and dorsal or lower back region.

Even kids could garner the myriad benefits of the Yantra Mat and could be employed pre-bed times for relaxing. However, parents need to ensure that some fabric is placed in-between due to the far delicate nature of skin in kids. But, the Mat is not a play thing and must be employed only under parental or adult care.

Subsequent to lying on the mat, smallish pit formations on the skin would develop which generally vanish within hours or days. The reddishness occurring is because of the augmented blood supply and a favourable outcome of using the mat.

It is recommended to not lie on the Mat for more than 2 hours, though no damage is caused in case it is done. Even overweight people could use the mat and it proffers a sense of well-being though yet can be hurting to a slight extent. Pressure adjustment could be done by wearing a light-weight tee or some sheet placed in-between.

Care and Maintenance

The Yantra Mat is prepared from one hundred percent pure cotton and the thorny flowers are prepared from totally non-lethal acrylonitrile butadiene styrene plastic.

The Mat could be rolled up following use and stored in dry areas. The Mat can be manually cleaned using tepid water plus soaps or detergents after removing the foam rubbery padding and then allowing drip drying. Avoid using tumble-dryers or washing machines for cleaning these mats since they could have a damaging effect on them.

A Boon for Travellers

For travellers the foam rubbery padding could be removed and merely the cloth portion could be carried. Thus it would be occupying lesser area in your luggage compartment. The cloth could be basically placed direct on the bed mattresses. These mats help individuals with sleep problems when outstation or away from their homes to get sound slumber while travelling.

Persistent weariness could be an indicator of a thyroid condition. Weight variations, hoarseness in voice, lethargic feeling and hair fall are all caveat signs.

Upping your Water Intake

Whether one breathes, talks, pees or even being seated consumes the body’s water reserves. Body drying out translates to energy levels also following suit.

Lighting up

Turning on your bureau light or opening the blinds and letting the sun’s rays permeate in. Our bodies require vitamin D innately obtainable from the sun’s rays to aid in keeping energy levels peaked.

Having your Blood Pressure Levels evaluated

Nearly sixty percent of males in the age band of eighteen to thirty-nine years of age might be having hypertension, a main reason for unceasing exhaustion.

Snacking timely

Our bodies require energy for operating at their best form and skipping just a single meal for whatever reason is only going to cause plummeting levels.

Very Berry

Irrespective of the type of berries one consumes, the elevated anthocyanin presence in them help in boosting energy.

Bulking up Dietetic Intake

Scientists from Cardiff Univ. noted that males consuming a fiber-rich dietetic intake experience lesser weariness as compared to males having lesser fiber in their diet.

Trying L-carnitine

The vitamin-similar amino acid may aid in swiftly recuperating your muscles following an arduous day. For feeling the pep, start intake of five milligrams daily for a minimal of 3 weeks.

Steaming up

As per a trial conducted in the United Kingdom, around sixty-eight percent of males felt more active following a warm showering or bathing session.

Increasing Fish Intake

Research has shown that omega-3 fatty acids present in tunas, salmons could be beneficial in fighting depression and leaves one more happy and energetic. Vegans or those not fond of fish could load up on flaxseeds and walnut or try popping a thousand milligram fish oil supplement.

Turning up the Amp

According to data appearing in the ‘Online Journal of Sport Psychology’ loud-volume music might be among the vastly effectual means of allaying stress and combating exhaustion.

Enrol in the B squad

According to report appearing in the ‘American Journal of Clinical Nutrition’ several sportspersons and physically active persons fail to get adequate B-vitamins which is not good as riboflavin, thiamine, vitamins B6 and B12 are vital for energy manufacture in our bodies.

Restricting Lunch to Five Hundred Cal

A calorie laden meal takes protracted time in digestion and results in energy being extracted from several body cells.

Get Active

One could easily sneak in some time for brief walks about the block as being physically active provides oxygenation to the blood cells and aids in refilling the body’s energy reserves.

Yes and many people ignore about their diet and they rather concentrate more on medications. Remember that medications are used to widen the arteries or slow down the heart rate and they only hide the true problem of high blood pressure.

You must know that hypertension can be cured naturally by changing your dietary habits, by taking correct supplements and minerals and doing regular exercises.

Here are simple 9 dieting tips to control your high blood pressure

1. Fiber high breakfasts – fiber in your diet is very essential and remember to eat cereals with minimum 5 grams of fiber and also it is a good choice as a snack.

2. Vegetables and fruits – they contain water-soluble fiber which can clear toxins, cholesterol and even plaque. Also veggies and fruits which are brightly colored contain phytochemicals which are very useful.

3. Beans – they are good source of both protein and fiber. You can get them canned or raw and try to add in your salads and soups.

4. Oils – you must be very careful with oils and always use oils that are obtained from plants. Instead of using butter you better use safflower, sunflower and olive oils.

5. Nuts – they contain monounsaturated fats and eat them instead of snack crackers and chips which contain Trans and saturated fats.

6. Fish – this is very good to eat because they contain omega-3 fatty acids which are said to be heart–healthy fatty acid and in this category salmon is a good choice.

7. Meats – poultry is a better choice in this category and also remove its skin before cooking.

8. Breads (whole grain) – it is very important to eat fiber rich and whole-grain bread products and choose a bread which has at least 3 grams of dietary fiber per slice.

9. Diary products – in this category reduced and more importantly nonfat dairy products will reduce your plaque and cholesterol levels.

note: reduce salt intake in your foods and make sure that low sodium intake is maintained well.

7. Manage your mind-

a) learn to accept that there are some activities that you cant control

 b) instead of being aggressive try to be assertive – for example : assert your beliefs, feelings and thinking rather becoming passive or angry

 c) most important point : you must set a limit to your work and simply “say no” to the works that would create more stress in your daily life

 e) Go for a walk with your wife or your girl friend

12. If you find that above tips couldn’t help you better then try to seek a psychologist or health professionals who are trained in the stress management and more importantly discuss with your friends and family members so that they can help you by giving suggestions with their experience of controlling stress.

If you find any useful point to be added here which you applied in your life to over come stress you can comment below so that i can add in this post. Have a nice health free from stress and depression.
